Celebration of Life for Ernest R. Wilder III Ernest Roy Wilder III was born January 29, 1966, to Louise Perkins-Wilder of Montclair NJ and Ernest R. Wilder II of Durham, NC. Born and raised in Passaic NJ, Ernest was a man of many nicknames. Ern, Big E, Big Ern, Ernesto, and mainly, fondly Ernie by friends, family and anyone he came in contact with. The one name he adored the most and took much pride in was Daddy. Ernest was the definition of the phrase “Jack of all Trades” there wasn’t a job or task he couldn’t handle and/or master. While Ernest mastered many jobs during his time here on earth, he spent his last couple of years were spent working for Hackensack Furniture as the all-around maintenance man, salesman, and moving specialist. He later went on to spend over 10 years at Bendheim Architectural Glass Company of Passaic NJ where he started off in general building maintenance eventually working his way up and learning how to cut glass and fix the machines used to do so. His love, dedication and work ethic was shown in every single job he was given. “Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt Outside of work, Ernest was a family man. Survived by his wife Maria (Cruz) Wilder, he made it a priority to spend as much time in his home as possible. There was never a dull moment in the Wilder household. With his love for cooking, creating and re-creating dishes, much of his free time was spent cooking and dancing with his family. During the warmer months most cooking was done outside at the park added with fishing, laughs, good conversation and love. Many of his nights before the wind-down and at the end of the hustle and bustle of his days, Ernest spent quiet moments enjoying his favorite past time Star Trek. Football season was like Christmas to Ernest, no one loved the Dallas Cowboys more than he did; good, bad or indifferent the Dallas Cowboys were always on top in his book. Wherever Ernest went, whoever he ran into, the bop in his step and the hum and sincerity in his voice made anyone feel like you’ve known him forever and he was instantly your best friend. Ernest R. Wilder III is survived by: 3 Sons, Thadius Wilder, Ernest R.
