Henry J. Burns

Henry Burns, son of the late Ms.Blanche Burns Rosborough was born February 20, 1939 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He was educated in the school system in Rock Hill, South Carolina. In the early 1960’s he relocated to Paterson, NJ. A short time after his relocation to Paterson, N.J., he met and married the Love of his life, Sally Davenport. He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He was a member of Cross Road Baptist Church, Rock Hill, South Carolina. Years later, he faithfully attended Madison Avenue Christian Reformed Church, Paterson, N.J. Henry was a hardworking man who took pride in every job he performed. He worked at various companies, Union Carbide, Criterion Sciences and Zerega’s Son. He held various positions as lead worker, foreman, shop steward, and supervisor. He was a IBEW member. He was also a driver for one of the transportation companies. He leaves a strong legacy of love, courage and unselfishness. He was a family man who on many occasions invited family and friends to his home for enjoyment. Exchanging time for eternity, he leaves behind to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 56 years, Sally V. Burns of Paterson, NJ, loving children, one daughter Valarie Monique(Van) Williams of West Orange NJ, three sons Rashad Shabaka Burns of Hamilton, NJ, Larry Burns of Smyrna, Delaware and Effrom Harrison of Costa Mesa, California, as well as grandchildren, Moesha Wright Burns of Rahway, NJ, Larry C Burns Jr., Henry Burns, Maliik and Zaharra Burns all of Paterson, NJ, Victoria(Kenny) Bennett of Gainsburg, Florida, Vanna and Van Williams III of West Orange, NJ, Jerry(Alexa) Morrison of Prospect Park, NJ, Robert(Rachel) Pleasant Jr. of Butler, NJ. GreatGrandchildren Kia and Ava Morrison of Prospect Park, NJ., Titan Pleasant of Butler, NJ One sister, Belinda Brown McClure of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Sisters in Law, Vera W. Miller of Belleville NJ, Marian Wood of Atlanta, GA, Shirley Davenport of Newark NJ, Lucy (Cookie) Lowery, and Carrie Davenport both of Paterson, NJ. Brother in Law Stanley Moore of Bumpass, Virginia. Loving mothers of his grandchildren, Veronica White, Susie Morrison, both of Paterson, NJ, Jackie Wright, Jersey City, NJ. Beloved Yulanda Fairley, of Paterson NJ., Special cousins William and JoAnn Burns of Morristown,NJ., his prayer warrior Mrs. Joyce Jackson and his church family. Henry also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including his longtime friends Mr. Daniel(Danny) Robertson and Mr. JacK.
