Franscia Johnson Hughes

Franscia Johnson-Hughes was on born January 22,1956 in Warrenton NC to Daisy Augusta Johnson and Percy Williams (Norfolk Virginia). In 1967, Daisy and Franscia moved to Denver Colorado, where she met the late Lynn Boykin of Passaic NJ. Fran graduated Lincoln high School in Jersey City, NJ in 1974. She also attended St Peter's College (Jersey City, New Jersey), where she studied psychology and journalism. Fran managed numerous night clubs throughout Jersey City before moving to Passaic, NJ in 1989 to work for the Prospect Answering Service Company. In 1997, Fran married Prince Hughes of Passaic NJ. Fran is what everybody called her and Momma Fran is what she went by. A nurturing and strong mother is what everyone knew her as. A friend is what she was; with a heart big enough to spread love all around. There was never a dull moment when, “Top Dog” hit the room expressing that she was the oldest of seven and that she was in charge. Fran blessed our souls with her comedic loving ways. If she didn't have a word or a joke, she had a letter with her creative style of writing that was filled with wise advice and "you better act like you know” messages that always did the job. She never bit her tongue and when she turned her basketball cap around, you knew she meant business. She was always the party starter. The person who opened her arms and doors to many. Franscia Johnson-Hughes has left an imprint on all of our hearts. She has left memories to cherish and a love that will last forever. She leaves behind three children Ebony Johnson of Rex GA, Daniel Johnson of Passaic NJ, and Daisy Johnson of Patterson NJ. She also leaves behind her mother Daisy Boykin of Morrow G.A. and seven sisters: Nawatha Mitchell (Cliff Mitchell) of Hillside NJ, Alvera Lee of Jonesboro GA, Ethel Alston of Jersey City NJ, Linda Lee Brooks of Jonesboro GA, Clarissa Boykin of Newark NJ, and Stephanie Boykin of Morrow GA and two brothers; Siquon Wilder of Paterson NJ and Antwon Gable of Passaic NJ. She also leaves behind 39 grandchildren, nine great-grand and one great grand on the way; along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She also became an additional mother to Lee Ford, Latoya Highland, Sharonda Swain, Marie Kubik, and Loretta Wilson. Fran will be missed dearly and cherished beyond measure. Her contagious personality is will be remembered forever.
